Senators from the Unión por la Patria bloc sent a formal request to Vice Governor Verónica Magario this Tuesday to call a session before the end of the year, amidst the internal struggle between Kirchnerism and Kicillofism. Among the initiatives that La Cámpora seeks to be addressed before the end of 2025, more precisely on Monday the 29th, are "the election of the authorities of the Chamber, ensuring administrative continuity," which the sector considers "essential for the organic functioning" of that body, they stated in the document. They pointed out that "the swearing-in of Senator Roxana Alejandra López as a replacement for Senator (Gabriel) Katopodis and Senator Marisa Pirillo as a replacement for Senator (Diego) Valenzuela is an administrative procedure that must follow the guidelines of the regulations to ensure proper representation in the Chamber." "Our political force, which brought you to the Vice Governorship and today has its own quorum and majority in this Chamber, has the popular mandate to watch over the interests of the people of Buenos Aires," Kirchnerism stated in the letter accessed by the Argentine News Agency. And it added: "That is why it is unacceptable that, after the deadlines for the request made on December 12 and its repetition on the 15th of the current month, no progress has been made on the treatment of projects PE 1 24/25 (Buenos Aires Pharmaceutical Industry Center) and PE 2 24/25 (Buenos Aires Health Emergency Company)". The sector argued that some of these initiatives to be addressed in the Buenos Aires Upper House are facing an imminent "loss of parliamentary status" and already have "half sanction from the Chamber of Deputies". If a session is not held immediately, the projects will fall into extinction as provided for in Article 138 of the Internal Regulations, which would force the entire legislative process to be started from scratch, delaying vital solutions for the population," they stated. The proposals Senators identified with Kirchnerism stated that "the creation of the Pharmaceutical Center is an urgent response to the increase in drug prices and the 25% drop in sales, which has caused thousands of citizens to abandon their treatments." "Your failure to convene will make you directly responsible for these initiatives not becoming law. There are no numerical obstacles to holding a session, since our bloc has the necessary majority to function and approve these projects that are a strategic part of the health sovereignty of Buenos Aires," they warned Magario. And they insisted that "it is urgent to regularize the situation regarding the mandates of the Legislative and Administrative Secretaries, a circumstance that is subject to the will of the Body, so they must refrain from carrying out any administrative act, under penalty of committing the crime of usurpation of titles and Honors (art. 246 of the Penal Code)".
